You can now golf at the Gulf with Donald Trump at the new Trump International Golf Club. Situated in the Damac Hills which is set to be the newest high-society venue in Dubai, Trump’s branded golf club is setting new standards for golf estates across the world.
The formal opening of Trump International Golf Club took place in style at an “invitation only” ceremony where more than 80 guest attended. Trump’s 2 sons, Eric and Donald Jr. represented Trump in formally opening the club and entertained prestige guests including Hussain Sajwani, (who runs DAMAC properties) and the developer of the course who partnered with Donald. These are mentioning but a few billionaires that attended the spectacular event.
The gala opening was held at the golf course inside a larger villa and apartment building project known as the DAMAC Hills.
This clubhouse is one of the most spectacular courses across the globe. From the moment you walk into the clubhouse down to the facilities, there’s enough gold to suit even the most lavish Dubai resident. Expect glitz and glamour everywhere from the plates to the stairs (even the elevators are an experience!). Class, luxury and sophistication – fit for the gentlemen’s game!
But what do we know about the golf course? After all, we want to go there to play golf!
Here’s the thing: Whatever your thoughts are about Trump, he apparently knows how to create fabulous hotels and golf experiences. Professionals like Graeme McDowell and the English pro, Tyrrell Hatton love this course. The course has been designed by Rio Olympics course architect Gil Hanse, who was inspired by the first hole of the Old Course at St Andrews in Fife. Holes 6 and 7 bring the desert into play, and up on the par-4 Hole 8, past an impressive bunker and a potential blind second shot, you can spot the tallest building in the world, from what is itself one of the highest points on property. Good spot to take that selfie with Burj Khalifa in the background!
If this is one of the golf courses on your bucket list, you should start saving. The Green fees for non-members are Dh895 on weekdays and Dh995 on the weekend.
Happy golfing at the Gulf!
