One of Tee Off in South Africa’s co-founders, Christo de Jager better known as “Oupa” on the golf course, recently competed in the Canon South African Disabled Golf Open at Cape Town in May 2017. He is one of the top disabled golfers internationally and we are proud to have him on our team!
The Canon South African Disabled Golf Open was Christo’s tenth tournament in which he scored top of the leader board (as usual!). De Jager compete in the Les Autres division which covers disabilities where no amputation is involved, but where the limb does not function properly. This division also includes cerebral palsy and hemiplegics.
Christo began playing golf in 2006 and by 2010 he already made name for himself locally and internationally when he played in the British Disabled Golf Open and took second place. In 2015, he represented South Africa in the Swedish Invitational in Sweden, where he finished 15th overall in the tournament. In 2016, he won the Les Autres Division at the South African Disabled Golf Open.
You are truelly an inspiration to all golfers. With that positive attitude and good sense of humor, it’s not difficult to understand why you are a favourite on the disabled golf scene. We looking forward to your future wins and Tee Off has your back all the way!
Tee off in SA also wants to give a big shout out to the South African Golf Association (SADGA) for all their hard work and support that they’ve shown through the years for our kids as well as adults with disabilities. Thank you for introducing them to the great game of GOLF.
Tee off with pride,
